A break from the norm, look at this beauty

Last week was a friend's birthday so I ordered some cupcakes for the occasion. I asked neviepiecakes (see her photos on flickr at www.flickr.com/photos/neviepiecakes) to make 6 girlie pink cakes and she exceeded all my expectations with these totally gorgeous pink, sparkly babies. Not only did they look and taste amazing but the vanilla sponge was lovely and light........most impressed. Maddie is having a birthday party next Sat and Natasha is making some more cupcakes for the occasion, I just cannot wait to see them (and eat them!) YUM!

Personalised Christmas

Last night, in amongst my name garland making factory, I stopped for a breather in order to make some personalised christmas decs for my girls and my nephews in Australia. The only problem is Maddie was miffed that hers wasn't pink....there's no pleasing some people is there?

All's fair....

Last Sunday was the day of my 2nd ever fair. My kitchen table can now return to semi-normality as all last week it was my stall mock up! My little girls were so very good and left the merchandise free of chocolate spread and strawberry jam finger prints. My little Georgie, 2.5 yrs, kept looking at it saying 'oooooo, I like your shop mummy'. Scrumptious.

It went so much better than I ever expected. The many, many late nights of sewing were well worth it, although I'm definitely a night owl anyway and all my best ideas happen when 'normal' full-time mums should be tucked up in bed fast asleep!

Maddie, my nearly 5 yr old, insisted on 'helping' me at the stall for the last hour of the day. She was in fact most helpful and once each potential customer had finished pawing over the goods, she immediately tidied up the display, making it all look pretty again (lord knows where she gets her tidy streak from, not I unfortunately).

Anyway, here is a pic of my stall, I haven't downloaded them all yet, so will add a few close-ups shortly. Thanks to so many talents on flickr for such lovely comments xoxo

Oooops

I can't believe it's been nearly 2 weeks since my last blog, I have been very busy sewing lots and lots and lots! I had a batch of 30 batman badges to make last week (see them at http://flickr.com/photos/heartfelthandmade/3002641688/). Since completing them I have been concentrating on my Christmas ornies for a local Craft Fair I have a stall at on Sunday 16th Nov.....4 days time!!! It is only my 2nd ever fair and I'm nervous, excited and exhausted already. Here are some more of my Christmas creations....having spent a lot of hours recently drooling over all the wonderful handmade creations of so many talented artists I have drawn so much inspiration from them and have added greater detail to my own creations. My embroidery skills are pretty basic but I thought I'd give it a go! Problem is, now I want to keep them for my own tree.
