finally happy......

....with my stall set-up. For the time being anyway!

I may have mentioned it before (well, just a few times maybe), but I am part of a local group of mamas (and a papa) who all met on the school playgrounds and at various toddler groups in Berkhamsted. Last Friday saw our 5th fayre since we joined forces, less than a year ago, .....our More Than A Mama Easter Fayre!
It amazes me the amount of talent and business know-how there is amongst so many local parents. You forget that, before we very happily became stay at home mums and dads, we were professionals (in the business sense - not the Bodie & Doyle sense), some still are full-time working mums who amazingly manage to run their other business in the evenings and at weekends (I mean legitimate businesses - not in the ladies of the night fashion). Many of the mamas and papas are very happy to juggle their sewing, baking, writing, making lives with the school runs and toddler groups, play dates and school plays, parents evenings and swimming lessons (or disco dancing in the case of my 6 year old).

The More Than A Mama group definitely provides great support and friendship and it's wonderful to be part of it. The local support we receive is fantastic too, for which we are all truly grateful. The next More Than A Mama Fayre will be the best yet, with new stalls and new exciting plans....I can't wait and I vow to be so incredibly organised that I will even manage more than 2 hours sleep the night before the next event .......

sleepy sock bunnies - sold out! yay!

Folksy Friday on Dizzy Izzy's Blog

The fab Dizzy Izzy has included my chicks in her Folksy Friday posting today, hurrah, cluck, chirpy, chirpy, cheep, cheep. Thank you Helen, loving all your cheery chick picks!
I feel very tired this afternoon, the More Than A Mama Easter Fayre went well this morning and now I'm pooped! I rarely get much sleep the night before a big fair as I always leave my labelling to the very last possible moment! Time for a night off from stitching me thinks, bring on the take away and True Blood (season 2), if I can stay awake that long........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Thanks to everyone who came along and supported us this morning, we were even visited by fellow crafter and blogger Button Patch who happened to be in the area of Berkhamsted and came along to see what it was all about, lovely to see you.
I will update the More Than A Mama blog soon with photos from this morning, in the meantime I'm off to veg on the sofa for a bit before deciding what on earth to make the girls for their tea... beans on toast anyone?

all things cupcake

If you love all things cupcake, then you'll love the All Things Cupcake  site!
All Things Cupcake is a website about cupcakes that is updated daily by a number of contributors. They feed your cupcake obsession, if you aren't already obsessed with cupcakes, you will be! The site is sure to make your mouth water and you'll want to visit it again and again.

They even featured my Cupcake Name Banner on a posting about Cupcake Birthday Party Supplies. Thank you Tristine from Stay Home Cupcake for including me in your feature.

It's been a long 7 days.......

....without my computer, but YAY all is mended and our relationship is back on, oh how I love you dear computer. Anyway, enough of all that loopiness, I was gone, now I'm back, here's what I've been up to....
I finished a custom order of Racing Car Key Rings for a little boys party, hope all goes well on Saturday, Happy Birthday 'C'.
I also had a stall at my daughters' school's Pamper Night. It was a wonderful success and I was situated right next to Nevie-Pie Cakes which meant I got to try out her wonderful blueberry, banana and orange cupcakes (that's all in the ONE cupcake, I didn't meant I ate 3 cupcakes, although I did try a yummy carrot cake AND a delicious macaroon too, so on second thoughts, yes I am a great greedy guts).
I sent out a couple of Folksy orders.....

...along with a couple of Monster Making Kits
followed by a NEW(ly) tweaked old invention from me, inspired by the very clever Ali, (loving your work by the way, especially Rihanna's Shoes), who suggested I should add something to the Hair Clip Tidy for keeping head bands tidy too, so here's one I made earlier for aforementioned's middle munchkin's birthday......

Finally, I have been, or I should be, sewing for the latest More Than A Mama Fayre, this Friday, 26th March, at Berkhamsted Town Hall. I've made some super soft sock bunnies using newborn baby socks, Easter decorations galore, Hair Accessories Tidy's, Toothy Monsters and lots of other little bits. I'll take pics and post them after the event and I'll be blogging on the More Than A Mama blog too. Phew. I'm off to make tea for my munchkins, have a happy evening, see you on the other side (of the MTAM fayre)!

Indie Smiles :o)

Have you ever read the Indie Smiles site? Well, it's a fab place for crafty folk and artisans to advertise, run a giveaway, find how-to's or read helpful and fun articles written by crafty columnists.

One such contributing Columnist is Amanda from Gimme That Thing. She has written an article all about naming your business and used my name garlands as her main image, yay, thank you Amanda. The article is great. Read it here.

A special day.....

Just a little Irish Heart - wishing you all a fabulous St.Patrick's Day.
With an Irish Mother I feel it must be celebrated in some way today, before children (BC) it would have involved an ideal opportunity to go out and have a drink or two but today I plan to make some green iced cupcakes later with my girls after school instead! Maybe an Irish coffee later :o)
Have a great day!

Cake + Cake = Happy Mothers Day

We had High Tea for brunch today! Lots of cake and tea/coffee/pink lemonade/apple juice (delete as appropriate). There were marshmallows and strawberries too, along with sugar mice cookies, scones, finger sandwiches (cucumber or strawberry jam) and some crisps too. Nothing too healthy!
It was lovely. Thank you girls (and Mr) for a lovely day, so far............

love to all you mama's......

It's Mothering Sunday here tomorrow, so first off here's a love heart for all the mummies out there,
hope you have a wonderful relaxing day. I've been promised High Tea, so I'll be dusting off the tea set
later in anticipation of a cake-fest tomorrow!
Other news......well here's some work in progress. I received a lovely custom order for some racing car keyrings as party favors, so I'm having lots of fun making these.
I've sent out a few girlie orders this week, as well as a couple of yummy mummy hearts........
But the Easter makes are still coming along, in preparation of a couple of fairs.....more fabric bunnies.....
.....and some sweet spring birdies too.
Phew, I'm off to find my best china for tomorrow...will take pics.
Have fun everyone.

Monster love

More monsters have made it into my felty world! You may know that I'm quite fond of a monster or 2 so it was only natural that the Monster Name Banner should make it into my banner family sooner or later.
So, here he is, made in suitably boyish colours, but a girlie version is on it's way soon.

There you have it, listed today in my etsy and folksy shops and I'm just deciding whether I should open a shop at Wow Thank You too, I love the look and feel of this new site, what do you guys think?

Well, I must dash, my eldest is poorly and not at school today, although not too poorly to drink hot chocolate and eat marshmallows at the coffee shop this morning!

What This Old Thing Darling

What a busy weekend.....Saturday was an early start, heading on over to the gorgeous sunny village of Great Milton, Oxfordshire, for the What This Old Thing Darling event. The event was so well organised by Sue, Ruth & Georgia, along with a troupe of tiara wearing helpers in their capacity as 'retail therapists'. It was such a lot of fun too with piano playing and sing-a-longs, a delicious tea and cake shop, raffles, manicures and, of course, plenty of vintage and quality clothing, accessories and home wares, with profits going to help Children with Leukaemia.
I had a few new products on my stall......

.....some red, black & grey Toothy Monsters.......

.....some horsey hair clip tidies, with a pocket for pony tail bands.....

.....some girlie hair clip tidies........

... some new 'What a hoot' Tooth Fairy Pillows.....
... and some pretty little 'boudoir' decorations, lovely for a bedroom.

The event will be repeated so if you missed it this time be sure to check out their blog for updates. Thank you so much to the WTOT girls for having me.
