NOW CLOSED - Advent Giveaway!

I sometimes forget I have a blog! What with all the sewing, family and general stuff that goes on I confess I am a rubbish blogger. So, to make it up to you I thought I would show you this year's Advent Calendar. Inspired by many many many versions on pinterest I purchased some itty bitty gorgeous chevron paper bags from The Ribbon Reel, along with some baker's twine and set about making our Advent Calendar for this year.

I typed up a word document full of numbers 1-24, printed it onto some white card, dug out my trusty round paper punch to cut them out, grabbed some ickle pegs that I already had and hey presto. I've strung mine up across a blank stretched canvas, but you could string them up along your mantle, a book shelf or anywhere really.

I just need to get all the treats to go inside now, I do have a bag of chocolate coins but prefer the treats to be little gifts, maybe a moshi monster or a cute hair clip, a funny eraser or a Christmas Wish - such as a trip to see Santa or maybe a clue to where the girls will find a wrapped parcel - maybe a new Christmas book or movie for us to watch together - I'm a sucker for a festive film!
I'd better get my skates on and gather all the treats together.

In the meantime, I have ONE more chevron Advent Calendar to giveaway...

All you need to do is leave a comment here on my blog at the end of this post, or visit my facebook page and leave a message on the Giveaway post. Feel free to share share share!

The final entry date is Monday 19th November - the winner will be chosen using random.org, there is no monetary equivalent.
Open worldwide.
Good luck!

Lovely Luna

As promised yesterday, here is Luna, the Pom Pom Unicorn.
Not entirely new, but really a variation on my
Pom Pom Pony Decoration.
This one is off to her new home today.

The Pom Pom Pony decorations have become a surprise top seller of late and I have become addicted to pom pom trims, I try to sneak them into most of my new makes wherever possible! Find them here on facebook.

I must get back to my stitching. Hope you all have a great week, I started mine off with my 8 weekly trip to Hobbycraft. I normally go there to get ribbons, buttons, a bit of felt and threads. Today I bought so many items that I managed to crash 2 of their tills, oops. They ended up splitting my order in 2 and putting them through on separate tills! It makes it sound like I spent a fortune doesn't it, but it really wasn't much more than £50.
I then went off to my local art and craft shop to pick up some wool felt and other bits. From here on I will order my supplies mostly online as and when I need them. It would probably be more cost effective to buy everything in bulk, but I use so many different things I'd have nowhere to store it all, this works best for me at the moment.
How does everyone else go about buying their supplies?

Anyway, must sew, sew, sew. See you all soon.

Sunny Sunday at The Stable Studios

It's been a lovely sunny Sunday, we nipped out earlier to visit The Stables Studios Art Centre. They were having an open day and it was fab!

Georgie LOVES all animals and had to hold Tallulah the Barn Owl - gorgeous.

There were so many free art activities too, Georgie drew a beautiful sunflower using oil pastels, they had live music and of course some super stalls. My favourite being Lemon Squeezy, a wonderful kids' party planner owned by the lovely Helen...

such eye candy galore!
Be sure to visit their facebook page, Lemon Squeezy Parties.

I also came across a new favourite, Petal Poppet owned by the equally sweet
Lydia Hardcastle.
Her cards are darling, take a looksie...
I think her websites are all in the making but you can contact her direct via email at lydiahardcastle[at]hotmail.co.uk

Back home now though, dinner is a-cooking, school uniform to wash and maybe a movie with the kiddos, oh and of course an evening of lovely stitching once the stinks have finally gone to bed. I have something new to show you soon too, she's called Luna...

Under the Sea

It's party time!
A while ago the talented Natasha from Nevie-Pie Cakes asked me to make some 'Under the Sea' themed hair clip holders for her little one's birthday party goodie bags. I do love a theme and cannot wait to see Natasha's aquatic dessert table of delights. Here is a sneak peek via Natasha's Instagram pics. I managed to finish the stitching late last night, photographed them as early as I could this morning and bagged and labelled them up for a party happening TODAY at 12 noon!!! Luckily Natasha lives pretty nearby and is fully aware of my last-minute stitching style. Here's what I came up with.

I used some gorgeous Jane Means ribbons and the pom pom trims I am so fond of these days, here are my seahorses.

The jellyfish could double up as clouds too!

I was given free reign with designs and colours, apart from one important factor, the birthday girl simply must have a dolphin. Hopefully she will like one of these specimens.

To see more birthday party favour ideas, take a look at my flickr  photo set.

To check out Nevie-Pie Cakes you can find them on facebook, twitter, read their blog or visit their website, you will NOT be disappointed with the ridiculously uber-amazing hand painted cakes and cookies.

Right, I am making the most of the good weather today with my felt family and then tomorrow it's sewing, sewing, sewing.

Have a fabulous weekend.

5 months until....

Christmas.

Oops, there, I said it, sorry about that, but in the land of handmade, Christmas does come mighty early ;)

I am taking orders for these...
Christmas Pony Decorations

and these...
Christmas Rudolph and Gingie Decorations

oh, and this too...
Christmas Fawn Decoration.

But me being me, I like a bit of personalisation...don't say you hadn't noticed.
So, name tags can be made for them too, something like this...

or, maybe this...

this...

or possibly some of this too...

If you fancy ordering any of these Christmas creations, each one is handmade to order, stitching commences in approx. 3 weeks, after a couple of weeks sizzling in the Italian sun. Orders will begin to go out in September. Prices and sizes and how to order and pay can be found by clicking here for my facebook page. I will probably stop taking orders for these at the beginning of November.

Right, I'm off to finish some lovely orders before we jet off on Sunday. Hope you are enjoying the sun, well it's sunny here anyway, can't quite believe it myself.

Head count

So, I'm just back from the school drop off. Isn't the house wonderfully peaceful after the manic/shouty/wears my socks kind of morning it always turns out to be.

It made me smile to do a head count of little girls wearing Heartfelt Handmade hair clips in the playground today! The count this morning was 3, not bad considering I haven't actually made many new hair clips for the school fairs for a while. You may recognise the montage above from 'back in the day'. (Ha ha, I had to add that expression as I spent a gorgeous weekend away in Windsor for a hen do. The young bride-to-be is a mere 22 so when I overheard an old school friend of hers using that expression I did have to smile. A 22 year old's 'back in the day' is very different to a nearly 40 year old's 'back in the day'!).

Anyway, where was I? Yes, so it's good to see some of my clips have survived and are still alive and well!

Windsor Castle and Afternoon Tea at The Crooked House

Have a great week everyone, what are you up to?
I shall be mostly making name garlands, birthday banners, hanging letters, hair clip holders, ponies and flamingos.
Yikes I'd better get on.

I'm baaaaaack!

Well, what can I say, it's been a while, hopefully some of you are still around and haven't quite given up on me yet.
I've got news.....BIG news. I'm back for good because...
I've only gone and quit the day job.

This means its Heartfelt all the way and quite possibly a weekly blog post, a smattering more of tweets, endless pinning on pinterest and much more action on facebook too (if fb deems my posts important enough to show in your news feed that is).

It's such a fab feeling to be back, I only started the day job 17 months ago but it slowed down Heartfelt enough for me to feel that the crafty world was passing me by and left me with rather embarrassing turn around times on orders,
thank gawd you lot are so darn patient.

The very clever and super lovely Angie from Artwork by Angie has designed my re-branding and my Etsy and Folksy shops will soon have items in them again, once I've caught up on my existing orders this week of course. I think my most up-to-date site is my flickr gallery, that's been chugging along nicely.

So who wants to see some latest makes?
Well, here they come anyway
****Warning - visual overload****

Hair Clip Holders - cuppie cakes - hedgehogs - fawns - birdies

Name garlands

 Birthday bunting

Name hangers

Pom pom pony decorations

 Tooth Fairy Friends

Birthday Party bag favours

I squeezed in some birthday decorations too for a dear friend's lovely mummy celebrating a milestone birthday. Here we have the birthday girl's age on a stick, pretty cake flag bunting and a big birthday badge too!

and my latest whim... a Pom pom flamingo decoration...

That's just a taster of what's been occurring whilst I've not been blogging. I'm off now to make some more....got a busy week of orders - and I don't even have to leave the house - yippee - until my mini felties need picking up from school of course.
Have a lovely week everyone!
